Agaath en Govert - huwelijk in West-Indisch Huis

Soms klopt alles op een huwelijksdag. Een prachtige bruid, een trotse bruidegom, mooi weer, familie en vrienden, een persoonlijke huwelijksceremonie, een geweldige locatie, genoeg tijd voor een gave trouwreportage, bij Agaath en Govert was alles perfect in orde. En de extra 'touch': een waanzinnige jurk van de bekende ontwerper Alexander van Slobbe, gecompleteerd door fantastische schoenen van Jan Jansen - bring it on!
Sometimes everything comes together on a wedding day. A beautiful bride, a proud groom, nice weather, family and friends, a personal wedding ceremony, a great venue, enough time for a photoshoot, everything was perfect at Agaath and Govert's wedding. And the extra 'touch': an a-ma-zing wedding gown by Alexander van Slobbe, completed by fantastic shoes by Jan Jansen - bring it on!

Taco, de bijzondere kapper die door Alexander van Slobbe zelf was aangeraden, creëerde een geweldig kapsel voor de bruid.

Met een boot voeren we van het huis van het bruidspaar naar de trouwlocatie, het West-Indisch Huis in Amsterdam. Marco is tussendoor even van de boot afgesprongen om een aantal overzichtsfoto's te maken met de Magere Brug op de achtergrond.

Bij het West-Indisch Huis aangekomen hadden we tijd voor de fotosessie met het bruidspaar.

In het West-Indisch Huis. Alle gasten namen plaats, terwijl Agaath nog snel even in de spiegel checkte of alles nog goed zat en Govert rustig afwachtte.

De receptie na afloop van de ceremonie. Gelukkig was het perfect weer om de receptie buiten op de binnenplaats te houden.

Agaath en Govert wilden geen traditionele bruidstaart en kozen daarom voor een 'sushi-taart', mmm!

Het bruidspersoneel had een leuke opkomst bedacht om het feest te beginnen: een entree met djembé's! Een verrassing voor het bruidspaar, want die wilden geen 'echte' eerste dans. Maar omdat het onmogelijk is om stil te blijven staan op het opzwepende ritme van de drums werd er toch al snel gedanst.
The bridal party had organized a great opening for the party: an entrance with djembé's! A surprise for the bride and groom, as they hadn't wanted a 'real' first dance. But since it is impossible to stand still on the driving rythm of the drums, they quickly started dancing after all.

Agaath ziet Govert graag in roze gekleed, en tijdens een vakantie in Afrika had een dikke Italiaanse restauranteigenaar daar over gezegd: "you've gotta be man enough to wear pink" (als Agaath het verteld is het echt zo grappig) en het bruidspersoneel had dat onthouden - zo ontstond het thema voor de feestavond. Iedereen met een 'pink' detail, Govert in een 'hot pink' shirt!
Agaath loves seeing Govert wear pink and during a vacation in Africa, a fat Italian restaurant owner had commented: "you've gotta be man enough to wear pink" (when Agaath tells this story, it's so funny) and the wedding party had remembered the story - and that's how the partynight theme came about. Everyone with pink details, and Govert wearing a hot pink shirt!
